Memorable Moments from 2018

by | Feb 14, 2019 | News

As the Levitt Law Group moved from 2018 to 2019, we share with you some of our memorable moments from 2018, bringing the spirit of those endeavors to our work in 2019.

Sponsored Teenager in Foster Care for the Holidays

These included participating in a Lowell District Court program in December 2018 where the Levitt Law Group sponsored children in the care of the Department of Children & Families for the holidays. The Greater Lowell Bar Association also participated. The Court and GLBA sought GLBA member attorneys willing to individually sponsor a child. The Levitt Law Group sponsored a young teenager, providing gifts for him which included necessities and some items from his wish list. This was a very worthy cause – children in foster care who are not with their families need to be remembered during the holidays. Giving to those less fortunate has been a holiday tradition of the LLG for many years.

Hosted a Mediator’s Meal for MCFM

We hosted a Mediator’s Meal for the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation (MCFM) in October 2018 at Moonstones in Chelmsford, MA. The MCFM Mediator Meals are a way of connecting with fellow mediators while sharing a meal together. The goal is for colleagues (including mediators and related professionals) to get to know one another better in an informal setting. We had a good turn out, and the Levitt Law Group moderated discussion about mediation including its intersection with litigation and collaborative law. It was an opportunity to share ideas and also talk about issues in our cases with peers.

Massachusetts Association of Guardians ad Litem Fall Conference

Attorney Karen J. Levitt and Attorney Andrea M. Wells attended the Massachusetts Association of Guardians ad Litem fall conference. The conference was entitled “The GAL and PC in Court: Coping with Testimony in Deposition and Trial,” which was an excellent program. Both Karen and Andrea serve as Guardians ad Litem for the Middlesex and Essex Probate and Family Courts.

Office Outing

We had a fun office outing in Portsmouth , New Hampshire, where we went on a treasure hunt throughout the city! We raced to find hidden clues and landmarks, took pictures in silly poses, and interacted with strangers on the street to earn the most points. Andrea and Jackie’s team were the victors and were rewarded with gold medals that surely have a special place in their trophy cases!

Employee Appreciation Event

We also had an employee appreciation event at Kimball Farms in Westford, complete, of course, with mini-golf and ice cream. We now also all have matching lunch box coolers with the Levitt Law Group logo, which we all use every day ! This was a chance for LLG to give a special thank you to every team member who has worked hard to make our firm what it is.
